Some travel information

Update: August 14, 2024

Here we have collected some hints, how to get to Wagner's Sporthotel by train and bus. Note that Oberhof has no train station, so you have to use both, trains and busses, to come there (unless you arrive by car).

• Trains: You can check out timetables and book trains in Germany here:

  You can choose Oberhof as destination and then look for the best connection for you.
  
  
• Busses: You can find the timetables of the busses and trains in Thuringia here (unfortunately this website is only available in German):

  For your convenience we have listed the relevant bus departures from the two spots Zella-Mehlis and Gotha which you will reach by train.
  
  • From Zella-Mehlis to Oberhof (on Sunday, September 22, 2024) and back (on Saturday, September 28, 2024), these are the lines 422 and 423:

    A ride in one direction costs 2,20 EUR. Tickets can only be paid in cash or debit card, but not with credit card. This has to be done when entering the bus at the driver. Note: you cannot buy the bus tickets in advance or online, probably there is also no ticket machine on site.
    

    Leave the bus at Oberhof central bus station (Line 422) or Oberhof Tambacher Str. (Line 423) and walk to the hotel (see the picture below). The stop Tambacher Str. is across the hotel, in the other case, Busbahnhof (which means central bus station), you have a short walk to the hotel.
    

  • From Gotha to Oberhof (on Sunday, September 22, 2024) and back (on Saturday, September 28, 2024), this line is called Rennsteigbus (860):

    A ride in one direction costs 8,10 EUR (some reductions apply, but mainly of interest for frequent travellers etc.). Tickets can only be paid in cash or debit card, but not with credit card. This has to be done when entering the bus at the driver. Note: you cannot buy the bus tickets in advance or online, probably there is also no ticket machine on site.
    

    Leave the bus at Oberhof central bus station and walk to the hotel (see the picture below).

• Walk from the bus station to the hotel: You are almost done. You may have a look on the picture below how to find the hotel. Oberhof is not too large, so you cannot go lost really. We try to assist you with some sign posts to the conference, but you may also have a look on the general ones for our hotel.
